“I have something people want”

They’re going for gold – but making a whole bunch of silver in the process.

A number of high-profile Olympic athletes are joining OnlyFans, saying the Steam subscription site is an easy way to raise extra cash.

British diver Jack Laugher – who is competing at the 2024 Paris Games – sent sports fans into a frenzy when he revealed his account, paying $10 a month for access to his romantic content.

“Obviously, I have what people want,” the 29-year-old told The Telegraph on Saturday. I will gladly cash in on this. I’m a little weird and I want a little more money if I can.”

Laugher says the site helps supplement the relatively small income he makes from his athletic endeavors.

“The financing has not changed [in years]”, he declared. “I’m top three in the world, and it’s £28,000 [USD $36,000] a year.â€

Laugher did not disclose how much additional income he makes from his OnlyFans account, which does not feature full frontal nudity.

Instead, the athlete shares “SFW [safe for work] content on speed, shorts, boxers and more!” and offers followers the opportunity to chat with him personally.

Some of Laugher’s teammates are also diving into content creation.

Noah Williams, 24, Daniel Goodfellow, 27, and Matty Lee, 26, have all opened OnlyFans accounts, similarly sharing “headlining” but not clear “content.”

Lee, who pays $20 a month, explains on his website: “Remember I’m a Team GB diver, not a P [pornstar]. So it will all be SFW and a place where I can interact with you all.”

But it’s not just Brits flaunting their toned physiques in the gym for wild subscribers – especially considering there’s no shortage of sexy Olympians competing in Paris this year.

New Zealand rower Robbie Manson has also created an account with “exclusive content that tastefully explores boundaries, including artistic portrayals of nudity.”

Meanwhile, the platform has become a financial lifeline for some retired former Olympians.

Short speed skater Elise Christie says her account “saved her life” after retiring three years ago.

“I went from someone who won medals under a system to someone who had absolutely nothing and just dropped out and was left to figure life out,” the Briton, who competed in three Winter Olympics, told The Telegraph.

“I had lost my home and was working three jobs at the time.” [OnlyFans] it brought me back from a really dark place and now I use it positively,” she said, also adding that she does not share X-rated content.

“A lot of people just use it to engage with me and my life, to learn more about her and what happened and question me about sports and fitness,” the Olympian explained.

“I use it as a commitment to the fans who have been with me for a long time. Once you use it the way you’re comfortable with, you’re not forced to do things or do things you don’t want to do, you can use it the way you want to use it…. At the end of the day, at one point it saved my life because I had nothing.â€
